My experience with Veterinary Care Center was amazing. Dr. Birch and her staff were very knowledgeable, kind, and very friendly when we brought our Golden Doodle, Rigby.
We live in Lexington and had taken Rigby to two other veterinarians who could not determine the cause of his abnormal liver enzyme levels. When we contacted Veterinary Care Center, the team reviewed his information and asked us to bring him in.
Within a few hours they had determined what was wrong. Rigby stayed a few days for medication and IV fluids and the staff contacted me several times each day with updates on his progress.

One of the things we really appreciate is that they review costs of everything with you before doing anything. That level of transparency is rare and really important when you’re making medical decisions for your animals.
We’ve been to several vets in the area, and this one stands out by far. Dr. Birch truly remembers us and our animals, which makes every visit feel personal and consistent rather than rushed or transactional.
We’ve had one of our cats hospitalized here, and the communication and care throughout that process were excellent. During his stay, they even cuddled him and made him comfortable—he actually seemed to have a good experience despite feeling very unwell. We always felt informed and confident he was being well cared for.
The clinic itself is clean, well-run, and organized. We rarely wait long, and they’re able to get us in quickly when something comes up. The front desk staff is also very friendly and clearly loves animals—they remember us and greet our pets warmly, which makes a big difference.
We’ve had bloodwork, x-rays, and hospitalization done here, and everything has always been handled professionally and thoroughly.
